Finnally going through with the plans to do my home theater! Im going to go with paradigm ADP-370 for the surrounds, cc-370 for my center, and now im stuck on my floor standings. Its either monitor 7,9,or 11's. I had a bid on some monitor 11's on ebay for about 750 bucks which wasnt bad, but i got out bid at the last second....and now im trying to decide what else would be good. It will be with a denon 3806. Any suggestions?

The 7, 9, and 11's are a perfect timbre match to the cc370 and adp 370's so you can't go wrong. The 7's and 11's use the 6.5 inch drivers just like the center and surrounds you have chosen, and the 9's use 8 inch drivers. Some people would say to match the driver size all the way around, but the 9's with the 8 inch drivers would work just fine. It's up to how much do you want to spend. At a Paradigm dealer the 9's should be about $200 more then the 7's and the 11's should be about $400 more then the 7's.

If you like the Paradigm Monitors, I'd hold out & keep trying/saving for the Monitor 9's or 11's. Nothing wrong with the Monitor 7's; I'd just end up wishing I'd gotten the 9's or 11's in the long run and would always still want them if I went with the 7's, but that is just me with yet another case of upgraditis. I think the best way to fine which speaker to get is to audition both, see which one you like the best, and just hold out for it. Loudspeakers can last a long long long time, so unless you just want to upgrade in the future, you may be using these speakers for quite some time, so just get the ones you want. Paradigm makes quality speakers that are consistently accurate and at a great performance/price ratio, and they are also efficient enough to run off of your Denon 3806 receiver without any problems.

Also, are you going to go with a subwoofer? If so, then the 7's may not be a bad choice, but if you won't have a sub, I'd go with 9's or 11's for the little extra punch.

i have about 850 bucks saved up for the fronts. I have enough for everything else, seeing as im buying a 6 month of cc-370 for 250, and then just the adp's, and then i have to decide on a sub and save up for that...

Out of those, I'd go for the 11s also. I find the 9s, with the larger drivers, to be sloppy. You don't have to use ADPs for surrounds, you can get minis for a lot less and they work just as well. If you were going to go 7s with a sub, you might as well step down to 5s with a good sub.

i plan on spending good money on my sub either way. Probably a velodyne. I just wish i could find some used 11's for about a grand or so. I dont really feel like spending more than around 2500 or so, and im getting close so.

Its an ackward room, but really the main part is like 22x15 or so, its a larger room, but i will be sitting closer than that obviously. I have a toshiba 52 dlp, so probably about 10 to 12 feet, if that

That is a pretty good size room. I'd recommend a PB-12 or higher from SVS or the HSU VTF-3 MkII.

11's all the way, I have the 7's and they are a Great Speaker just not in the same league as the 11's IMHO (Never heard the 9's so I can't comment).

I would have to say...get whatever you can reasonably afford for fronts if you are getting a good sub as they will likely not be handling the low frequencies. If not then I would get the 11's for sure with enough power to drive them. I prefer the sound of my system without the sub in Direct Stereo for music...likely due to a PS-1200 not being enough for my giant room. I haven't heard my monitor 11's on the PV amp but I am assuming they will sound much better than what my reciever can do. That's my 2 cents as a happy Paradigm owner...but I also listen to rap and like good sounding accurate bass...which may not be a main concern of yours.

I went to the dealer, and well now im going with the 11's. I didnt hear the 9's but the difference is night and day between the 7's and 11's. They are also on sale for 1 grand so it will only be 150 bucks more for new one's so im sold. I was told by owner of the company, that the adp-370's can be temperamental in setting, and suggested going with mini monitors, can anyone confirm this?

While I can't confirm the difficulty in setup of the 370's, I can say that the mini monitors and/or onwall minis have worked admirably in my setup. Plus, the $300 or so that you save will fit nicely into your budget for the 11's!

Used paradigm

If you don't mind used, check out audiogon.com.
You should be able to upgrade the mains to the studio series for <$1k.

I was auditioning the 7s and after listening to the 11s knew I had to go with the extra CDN$399 for the 11s.
I have never regretted the decision. Listening to 2 channel SACDs on the Monitor 11s (v4) is a blessed experience.
I also have the CC-370 v4 and it sounds brilliant in between the 11s.
I look forward to adding the ADP-370s and a Servo15 v2 to complete my system.
:)

i think i may go with the cc-450 for the center obviously. It sounded great with the 370, but i think the 450 put it over the top..

Do you mean 470 or is this an older unit? 450 isn't a timbre match for the 11s. I'd opt for 60s instead.
