Hey everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with comparing these speakers? I am looking to upgrade my upstairs studio 20's. I have the Sig. 8's/C5 in the basement and have grown to love the Sig sound but I hear a lot of good things about the 805. Girlfriend won't let me get anything more/bigger than the two since I have the big system downstairs so I have to keep it to a bookshelf and those two seem to be some of the better ones out there. My room is fairly small to small/medium and at the moment I would be driving them with a Yammy rxv1600 until I save up for a dedicated amp.

I have demo'd the S2 at a dealer but it was only with a Blu Ray movie and it pretty much floored me with the amount/quality of sound that came out of such a small box but that might be due to the Blu ray.

Thanks

One other speaker you might want to look at in the price range is the Salk HT1. I was torn between that and the 805, but decided to go with the Salk for the custom options. Unfortunately mine are still under construction so I can't say anything about them. However, I have yet to hear any comments that would make me the least worried, and by all accounts the woodworking is amazing. If looks matter and you have custom tastes, he can make anything you'd like. I'm still curious about the 805s, but 802s are in my long-range plans anyway so I can wait...

And here's a thread at Audiocircle on Salk speakers - if you are interested, you might find the comparisons you want over there.
