Hello all, new to the forums but have been lurking for awhile.

Hoping for some advice regarding the Paradigm PDR-80 for a temporary condo fix. I have the option to pick one up new for $125!!.

My wife got me a Paradigm MilleniaOne 2.0 set for my birthday, to replace my old Energy Towers (she hated how big they were). Very happy with the Paradigms, but they definitely need a sub to round them out. WAF is a real issue and while I would love to pick up something like a SVS SB12 (or the recent SB1000), it's not in the budget with a baby on the way. I had been looking at something sealed from Klipsch, Polk etc. for under $200 but this seems like a way better option for the short term (we will be moving in a couple of years and I plan to pick up a better option at that time)

Space is 11' x 28' x 8' ceilings.
My main use is listening to music and the ability to blend with the sat's. I generally listen to rock/folk/jazz and at very moderate levels, so I'm not concerned about SPL or really plumbing the depths of frequency.

Any feedback or opinions on this would be great. Thanks in advance!

Your room is almost 2500 cubic feet, which is more then any 8" subwoofer will be able to handle. More then likely it will be overwhelmed by that much space.

Appreciate the response. I figured that might be the case and while I might be able to get the PDR-10 for only $50 more, but I was hoping to minimize the footprint since my wife's response to the size of even the 8" enclosure was less than enthusiastic.
Ultimately I know this isn't an ideal long term solution - it's more of a Band-Aid until we are in a new space and I can afford something better.

If you do opt to get the PDR-80 you'll need to run it "hot" - turned way up, essentially - which means the amp probably won't last too long. If it ultimately fails from being over driven you can then turn to her and say 'see, I told you so'. Maybe that way you'll be able to get the correct size sub the second time around. :p
