My Paradigm 5.1 speaker system that I recommend you.

The Paradigm Monitor 7 is a very popular model, florstanding with much better bass extension than the Cinema 330 model.

For a good Paradigm 5.1-channel speaker setup, I suggest a pair of Monitor 7 for your two front mains, a pair of Atom Monitor for the two surrounds, and a CC-190 for the center speaker.
And for the sub, a Paradigm DSP-3100.

The total list (MSRP) price for that full 5.1 speaker system is $1,860.
I'll say try to get a deal for about $1,250 for the full package. That'll be good.

It cost more money because it is smaller, more wife friendly (WAF), it's not worth it in my oppinion, the DSP-3100 is a better value, and it will deliver about the same performance for much less money, period.

It's not a question of money here, it's a question of value with greater savings.
If you want to spend exactly what you want to spend, I suggest you buy some good CD recordings and Blu-Ray discs. And if you have some left over, invite your girlfriend to the Opera, after a nice dinner at her favorite restaurant.
