Speaker options

Are you limited to "lifestyle" speakers. The small 3-4" woofers in these models are a performance compromise.
Check out some of the real wood veneers available bookshelf and floorstanders from av123 and other manufacturers. If traditional speakers wont work, you should consider on-wall or in-wall type speakers. The grills can be painted to match the wall making them unobtrusive.

Is extra credit given out for name dropping companies over and over and over? WOW. I have never heard that particualr Paradigm model before but given their track record, I am sure they sound great. To me Paradigm is one of the safest choices is all of audio and preferrable to Def Tech. Go for it and give us a report!!

I reviewed them a couple weeks ago. Millenia 200 Review

I looked at the Mythos at a local Ultimate Elec and the Millenia case is definately deeper. Seems stronger/deeper. Didn't get to listen to the Mythos, but the Millenia's sounded awesome.

Paradigm Millenia

I just purchased a set of the floor standing Millenia's. I replaced my
Monitor 7v2's with these. They are great, and keep in the tradition of Paradigm's good sound quality. I was a bit of a skeptic about buying these, as other's such as the similar Definitive's have a muffled and tinny sound that I attribute to the aluminum enclosure. Also, these will be my first speakers that are dependent on a subwoofer. Not with these. Just out of the box, they sound great, but will take approximately 100 hours to break in, according to the shop where I bought them. We have left the stereo on during work hours, only to come home to an improved sound every day. At about 25 hours, there was a pronounced change, and as we near 100 hours, they are awsome! The enclosure is handsome, and you close your eyes, you would not be able to tell them from other reference speakers. I have paired them with the PS-1000, but I plan to get a reference model sub as soon as my speaker finances are back. I auditioned several others, including the reference 20, and 40. These blow them away in my opinion. Clarity, depth, and the soundstage is a vast improvement over the Monitor 7's. I am well pleased with these. I have not heard the on-wall, as I do not think they are available. I hope this helps.

The thread title made me think of a science fiction movie about P-Dawg. I don't know exactly what. Maybe a vampire flic. Maybe a vampire hunting flic.

They are selling black floor/demos at my local Paradigm dealer for a similar price, but that is all they have left. You may want to check around at dealers if you absolutely need black ones. There isn't much difference in looks IMO, the black ones are pretty much just a darker chrome.

Thanks a lot.

I have studio 60s, ADP 450, CC 450. and am planning to replace front threes. What would you think for on wall, I should get 20s or 30s. I do not want to remove my ADP450s though.

thnx

I'll go visit local dealers and see if black any better?
thnx
