Paradigm Cinema 330s w/ NAD T-973

This is similar to a previous post of mine which some of you may recall. Sorry if I am being redundant, although this post is more to the point. I have a NAD T-973 amp and am looking for speakers to use with it. Ulitmately I am going to get Paradigm Studios but I really need something to tide me over for a while while I save up for the Studios. I am looking at some of the Paradigm Cinema 330s as they would work great in another location once I upgrade to the Studios. My only reservation is that they are rated for 120 watts max amplification while my amp puts out 140 WPC. As I am not all that knowledgeable in A/V stuff I don't know if they will work together or if I run the risk of damaging the speakers and/or amp. If I keep the volume down to reasonable levels and adjust the input level controls down to a lower level could I get by using those as my front speakers with the NAD T-973 amp for a while?

Thanks,

Matt

No worries. The Cinema 330 are 94 dB sensitive in room. This means that if you are listening at 94 dB (i.e. loud) you are only using 1 watt from your amp. Your ears will tell you to turn down the volume before you ever come close to giving them 120 watts.

That's great news. Thanks for the reply.

So, I actually just ended up ordering some Definitive Technology Mythos instead. I got the Six for the left and right and a Seven for the center. I have never heard them but it seems like plenty of people like them, and I got them for about 1/2 off. If I end up not liking them I will just sell them and shouldn't be out too much. What do you guys think? Did I do ok for a temporary setup?

I love Paradigm speakers, but I think the Mythos are a better speaker then the Cinema's.... I really don't care for them at all...

Congrats...

Thanks for the feedback. It's nice to hear your thoughts on the Mythos versus the Cinemas. It certainly looks like the Mythos have quite a bit more headroom than the Cinemas. Wonder how they'll sound with my NAD amp? In any case, I still am planning on getting the Studios someday and moving the Mythos to our secondary room. However, now I don't feel near as rushed since I will have something acceptable to listen to and I didn't have to pay too much for them.
