I've heard people say that in-wall speakers are not capable of producing sound comparable to regular speakers. While this is true in some cases, it is also true that there are lots of more than capable in-wall speakers out there. Last week, I had the opportunity of hearing three Paradigm H55-LCR speakers and, let me say that I was impressed by the way they behaved. Take a look at this nice speaker.
These speakers feature a 3/4" PTD™ dome tweeter and dual 5.5" mineral-filled polypropylene bass/midrange drivers with oversized computer-optimized ferrite magnets- all covered by a Bezel-Free Micro-Perf Grille. I have to be honest.... I was one of those skeptical about in-walls, but no more. These babies were actually pretty impressive and were capable of putting me in the middle of the action leaving me wanting for more. Their happy/proud owner is a good friend of mine and he told me that he installed them without any difficulties (which says a lot about their design because I wouldn't expect him to be able to accomplish such task knowing him the way I do). Another reason to be impressed by these puppies. So, if you are considering to go the in-wall route, give these speakers a look.
