Scuze me if I enter this conversation.
I've heard the 40's, 60's, and 100's at the same time and though not impressed by any, I found the 40's to be much less resonant and had great bass. To me, the 40's had more depth, clarity, and a less compressed sound than the others.
consider yourself as entered.. :)

What "version" did you listen to? where they the version 4s?

(and I will keep the change... I'm broke :) )

The funny thing is; Babel knows which ones he wants, has the money, has a truck to pick them up, has a dealer but he just refuses to go get them!

when did I tell you that I had a truck? :)

and I don't know which fronts I want yet :)

I do, however, know which amp I want and that doesn't come out until July.. that is the big thing that is holding my purchase up :)

At this rate I will have new speakers before he does, and I am not even in the market for any!

(J/K) Def think you should take your time when spending this kind of money.

Wow, this is really going south here Babel...

Good thing your coming over to my house to check out the goods, and if you don't make a descision after that, we're all going to come to your house and tar and feather you... !!!!!!

Who's onboard with that idea.... :D

I'm in but we need to do it tonight as I am over your way. Well closer than normal anyway; I am in Minneapolis which is closer than Dallas...lol...

You have the tar?

LOL.. There is nothing better then reading this forum after a hard days work :)

Wow.. This isn't looking good for me :) I really am going to be getting the speakers.. I promise! :)

The only thing that is holding it up is the 3808. I dont want to get some substitution amp or something to hold me over till mine comes out. The whole 'buy a best buy amp and keep returning it until yours comes out' isn't my style. :)

You guys are starting to sound like my family... my family asks the same questions "when are you going to get your HT??? we already have ours!" :)

After we visit Warps place, we should know what wood finish we want for the speakers (and which fronts we want/need). After that we will order the sub.. then next month we will purchase the speakers and the receiver... after that all we will have left is the projector and the screen.

To be honest with you, I don't recall which version. It was ~1.5 years ago, at a high quality audio salon. I hope you've read the difficulties with Paradigm speaker quality and customer service issues here on Audioholics. But they're your ears and it's your money. That's all that matters. Well, that, and torturing Greg. :D

That was definitely something I was concerned about, but my dealer is top notch, and He is the one I have to deal with. I know I have nothing to worry about... but I would definitely would make sure the dealer is reputable..

Yep; a good dealer takes Paradigms lack of costumer service out of the equation. Remember when I had an issue with one of my 40's my dealer met me at the store after hours and loaded 2 new ones in my car.

Wow.. that would make a huge difference.. I am not sure if the dealer I found would do that for me :(.. What was the problem that you had with your 40s?

Undetermined; one of them started cutting out at a certain frequency. I took it into the store and they scoped the crossover and checked the tweeter and couldn’t fine anything wrong. They told me it was likely my AVR so took a new one and hook it all back up. It still did the same thing so I called him about 8pm (they close at 6) and he said meet me at the store and gave me 2 new ones.
