I am considering to buy the professional Panasonic plasma, but I'm not sure whether I should opt for the HDMI input module or the DVI. The plan is to use a Denon AVR 2807 (or 3806) as video switching/conversion unit, so I'll need only one digital input. My concern is that the DVI input module accepts a far wider range of signal formats than the HDMI, but HDMI allows (in theory) a higher color resolution. The DVD player will probably become the Denon 2930, which supports scaling to PC resolutions (incl. the native display resolution of the panny), but I'm not sure whether it effectively uses the 10bit/color resolution offered by HDMI. Any opinions on this?
