Thanks, Adam!

I saw the $1499 price and thought that since it wasn't a "door buster" price that is would stay very close to it so I'm going to wait. We have the room tore apart right now and it would just set for another 2-3 weeks so...

I just a panasonic viera TC-P42S1 for $800 on sale at best buy 2 weeks ago. I got it for my bedroom and am very pleased with the PQ. I too just use it for TV and occasional blurays. Its selling for 829 now seems like a fair price for the size.

Personally, my target price for that would be $600. My target for $800 would be the 46". A couple of months ago or so, Amazon had the 42s1 + Pana bluray for $800. And since the bdp prices have arguably plummeted since then, I'd hope for something even better in the future. JMO. If pennies must be pinched, I think it's worth waiting.

edit: it's 768p, but that probably won't matter for SBF1 in the BR... if you know anyone who is a member at Costco, they have the TC-42PX14 42” for $549 thru December 13.

Great suggestion! I got a 42" X1 a few weeks ago when my old TV's HDMI input went out. I'm more than pleased with the picture quality. Its colors are a bit inaccurate out of the box, but a guy on AVS has some service menu offsets that are easy to do and help out a lot. It doesn't look quite as good as my dad's 58" S1, but I don't think the difference will be noticed in a bedroom.

Doug - are you still interested in the 2009 Panny's, or are you planning to wait for the 2010 models with the updated Viera Cast?

I'm gonna pick up the 42" S1 from sears tonight or tomorrow for the bedroom for $649.99 + 6% tax. I'm gonna see how I like it and then make a decision on the bigger set. I haven't even looked at what Panny is offering for 2010.

AHstore has the 65" S1 for $2519......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.:)
