I can't really help you much other than to say that you should try it out on your least favorite album. See what happens. There are specific adjustments to make that I don't know much about but Google search should get you up to speed enough to be able to ask informed questions about tone arm balance and such. When I got my POS TT my sacrificial album was KC and the Sunshine Band. Nothing blew up and now I'm on a first name basis with the folks at Luke's Record Exchange. ;)

As 3db says: spin and grin. :)

Agreed. Quite nice for $2!
The belt came in and it plays. How do I know if the weight is set up correctly?

It has the Audio Technica, ATN 71E stylus.

I don't if this helps but the turntable that I have now and my previous turntable had me adjust the weight such that the tone arm was floating just barely above the tone arm rest. Thats my zereo point. From there I would dial in according to the garduations of the couintwerweight until I achieved the recommneded weight for that cartridge. There are websites that can tell you what the recommended tracling weight is. You can do it that way or purchase a rig that measures down force (which is more accurate than what I just described above) For $2.00, You did very well indeed. Enjoy and have fun. :) Spin and grin my friend!! ;)
