thanks a lot
You are probably better off getting the Optoma HD72,the sony hs51a.
The panny and the sanyo are reviwed(sanyo plz-4) on audioholics.
Lcd and Dlp projectors have their pros and cons, you can read up on it on audioholics. Dlp projectors have the cons of some people suffering from the "Rainbow effect" although some newer dlp projectors have a spinning wheel to minimize this.
The Rainbow effect means that for certain people they may see green,pink-and red colors offsetting motion to their eyes. You aren't missing out on getting an lcd projector in most cases especially at your budget, which you failed to mention. Carada.com sells highly rated projection screens on a budget, audioholics mentions those.
Getting a good screen is important, if you can't control ambient light some people end up with a greyish material on the screen, such as the stewart firehawk. Since the panny and all the other projectors I mentioned are HD projectors(720p native), you can watch Hdtv on the projector. Note you might need an Hd-capable box from your satellite or cable company. Regulat Tv channels would probably come through the same box to your projector- the box they give u, you hook it up to your projector. Whatever your box gives you, depends on the company, some normal tv is broadcasted in HD..
I stronly recommend you obtain a screen. I doubt why you would want to hook up a projector to your tv, I don't understand because if you are using the projector you probably won't be watching tv. If you are referring to watching source material(stuff you normally watch on your tv- or hooked up), then you probably need to hook up the game console and dvd player to your projector.
If you have an receiver- just simply hook up the receiver to your projector via component, hdmi,or dvi and attach all your stuff-game consoles, dvd players- to it. This is assuming your receiver supports it. Component video connections usually have a red blue and green sets where you plug in a cable. Of course almost every projector has composite, component, and s-video inputs as well as a dvi or Hdmi input-nowadays.
Your projector needs to be a certain distance from the screen , I belive at projectorcentral.com I think they have a calculator.
