In my work doing vintage speaker restoration and designing and building custom speakers, I was asked about the possibility of tri-amping a pair of vintage Marantz Imperial 9 speakers.

Needless to say, I was pretty excited to find an article here on Audioholics, from Patrick Hart... in which he mentioned working at Marantz and OWNING an actual pair of tri-amped Marantz Imperial 9 speakers done there in the Marantz design lab!

I would LOVE to be able to get in contact with Mr. Hart... Patrick, if you're reading this (or if anyone else with contact info for him, would mind checking with Mr. Hart), I can be reached at the following email: gwaters@inbox.com .

Thanks!!

Regards,
Gordon.

I too have found a pair of near perfect Imperial 9's that I want to bi or tri amp with, belive it or not, refurbished Marantz 250's and 240's.

Mr. Hart, are you out there? Would you please respond?

I also have found a set that I am going to restore and had some questions about the woofers, does anyone know if they are 4ohm or 8ohm?
