Output signal drop temporary

Hi,

I am facing this problem and appreciate some head up. :p

I have my DVD player video output connected to TV set while the audio is channel through an optical cable to the DTS decoder. While watching a DVD movie, if someone switching on lights in other room, my speakers will lose its sound output momentarily - complete silent from all speakers for 1-2 seconds before the sound come back while the TV screen continue showing pictures without a blink. What could be the cause and how can I resolve this?

Thanks

Sean

Fiirst off, I'd try moving the power plugs of the offending unit to a different circuit.

Are fou going to a receiver or a standalone DAC? Does it only do it when using the external DAC?

In an effort to save time (and money), I would replace the switch before messing with anything else. Switch may be getting old and sending a spike through the electrical system to a component that's exceptionally sensitive.
