Anyone have any experience with Outlaw products? Namely the 990 processor and 7125 7-channel amp? Thanx!;)

Outlaw is held in high esteem by most people who frequent this forum. The 990 processor and 7125 amp has been reviewed by another site and received positive comments. Outlaw 990 and 7125 review

I use their stuff on channels where getting the very last drop of clarity isn't important to me: I use their mono amps to drive the rear channel and sub, and Bryston for the rest. I'm very happy with this combo.

One caveat - the amps have an optional "music sense turn on" which will flip the amp on when it detects a music signal. This is not useful for subwoofers in my opinion - not only is the turn-on slow enough to take a chip out of initial deep transients, but in music with intermittent bass lines and long gaps between them, you get to listen to the relay click as the amp cycles on and off. It drove me nuts. Leave the amp on, or use the 12v control option to control it remotely.

Outlaw has some great equipment

Very hard to beat for the money also. The above poster was describing their mono-blocks which are not the same as their multi-channel amps; the monoblocks are not A/B class amps.

I had the 7125 and now have the 7700 balanced amp, very well built by ATI out in California and the Outlaw cost $1,000 less then ATI's "version" of the exact same amp. In fact the amp is shiped directly from ATI in Cali.

They just released a firmware update for the 990, if you get it make sure and apply it as the new ones are not shipping with it yet I have heard. The update gives you more functionality and fixes issues with bass management on the 990. The 990 has very impressive 2-channel performance and also allows Upsampling.

AV123, another Internet Direct company that I have a lot of experience with (excellent Ref. series speakers!), has a UL Pre-Pro that is a few hundred less then the 990 and is supposed to sound fantastic but does not have many features and has an issue with PLII and PLIIx.

I just bought the same exact outlaw combo. Just couldn't find a better deal anywhere in my opinion. It is in the mail as we speak. I will try and let you know how it works out but I'm sure I won't be disapointed.

Sounds good - I think I will likely go with the 990/7125 combo. Let me know how it works out for you and your initial thoughts on your new system!

I have the 950 and 755 Outlaws as well as the 1050 receiver. Incredible transparency for the money and power to spare in the amps. You'll be very happy.
