Outdoor/Weather Resistant Displays

Has anyone here looked into these? I have seen a couple waterproof LCD models that are outrageously expensive. I have also looked at the weatherproof enclosures from ITSENCLOSURES, also quite enpensive. I am not really dealing with extreme weather (San Diego), so I am not adament about purchasing NEMA 4 or NEMA 12 specifications, I just need something that can take a little moisture and keep the display from overheating. Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

thanks

I'm in North County, near Fallbrook. I realize it isn't as simple as just making a waterproof case -- needs ventilation etc., but I don't want to pay $2,000+ for an enclosure. I'm trying to either find a cheaper product I can purchase, or some kind of DIY project to make it work. Let me know if you find anything.

Hello all,
Please keep an eye on the home page for editorial coverage from the 2006 EHX show in Long Beach. We found an all weather outdoor LCD display that may peak your interest. Information should start posting in the next few days

Thanks for the heads up RLA. I checked out the article regarding the Expo in Long Beach and saw the feature on the Sunbrite all-weather LCD. This is definitely the most convenient, plug and play option. Unfortunately, we are talking $4,000+ for a 32" LCD. Unless I find something else relatively soon, I think I'm going to build my own enclosure. I figure I can get a 42" plasma for $1K, spend $400-500 on the material and fabrication for an enclosure and save myself some money.
