The optical input on my home theater system is being used by my DVD player but I still want to run my PS2 with a optical cable. does any one make something so that I can plug a DVD player and my PS2 inputs in (sound and video) and have just 1 output go to the home theater. something like the old A/B switch but with Optical ports. what i need is 2 optical and 2 s-video inputs to 1 optical and 1 s-video output.
thanks for any help
Dan

WOW!!! I never knew anyone made one of these. I need one years back with my old Kenwood receiver. Nice.

Does your receiver have a digital coax connection for audio? If one of your sources has this connection you could use it to allow both devices to be connected to the receiver.

its on the right track to what I need... but I need something with video also. This is what im looking to do...I want to hook up my PS2 and a DVD player all to the some input on my home theater and just be able to switch back and forth with out having to change the plugs like I do now. Right now I have the DVD player hooked up with S-video and optical, that is plugged in to the DVD input on the home theater. when I want to play PS2(this too is running with S-video and optical) I have unhook the DVD hookup and plug in the PS2. it gets to be a real pain in the ***.

You can get a really nice Pelican system switcher for under $100. It lets you connect 7 different consoles, with three or four digital inputs and component video, and includes a wireless remote. I have one myself.

NOTE: I bought mine at Best Buy, and I've seen them at several gaming shops. I don't know anything about the company I linked to- it's just for basic info on the switcher.
