Other Rec Options for around $1,000....

Ive been out of the loop for a whille...

i am doing research for my next receiver...

ive always liked onkyo, and i LOVE the SR805 and the features you get for the money...

but is there any other receivers i should look at in the price range?

integra, outlaw...?

if it matters i plan on powering a svs sub (probably a pb12plus/2) and an Ascend array...

Heh, more than you can shake a stick at. If Onkyo, $1k should now get you the 875. I don't need the Reon HQV, but maybe you would enjoy it. Otherwise, the amps are said to be extremely comparable. (keep the $400 in the pocket).

Outlaw will not have HDMI stuff out till late fall it looks like. I guess its something about Cirrus falling thru, going with TI, and having to hit the drawing boards again.

Integra is a nice brand that people love for digital sources. A smaller, but decent, proportion of owners are not as happy with analog sources running through them.

Look at Marantz SR7002 (MSRP $1399.99), Marantz SR6001 (MSRP $999.99), Yamaha RX-V1800 (MRSP $1299), Yamaha RX-863 (MSRP $999), Pioneer Elite VSX-91THX (MSRP $1200) These are all good AVrs you might want to consider.
