Yep,

Saturday was a great day!! I never expected the Horns would be taken to the woodshed in such dramatic fashion, but I'll take it.
:D

Who needs 4th quarter drama, right?

That was indeed a smart whipping your boys put on Tejas! Good show.

Saturday will be my day. The entire state (except for the Beavs and their fans...ahem, Major Loser) are jacked up something fierce for the Ducks game with Oklahoma. The situation is changed from last year's Holiday Bowl game where the Ducks qb was injured and did not play against the Sooners. (The third-string backup qb threw an interception on the 10 yard line during the potential game winning drive.) It would be like OSU losing Troy.

If they have television in Ohio, yet, ;) you ought to tune in the game. One caveat...the best Ducks db (left corner) broke his leg last week. Only freshmen back him up. :(

Did you guys hear about World Furniture Mall in Illinois getting an insurance policy to cover their bet that if the Bears shut out the Packers, everyone's furniture would be paid for? Well, the Bears shut out the Packers 26-0, and the insurance co. now has to pay out over $300,000 in purchases over Labor Day weekend. That's pretty amazing. I wonder what that policy ran the store owner?

Oh yeah. Today we tortured ourselves and watched the ESPNCL replay of last year's Holiday Bowl. What a big UGGHH. We outplayed Oklahoma something fierce. But our center kept snapping the ball on the ground and ruining plays. That's what caused the ultimate interception at the 8 yard line with 34 seconds left. THEN...we held the Okies to 4th down on their one inch line only to watch time expire. Huge UGGHH, in fact. U of O 17 - U of O 14.

I gotta work harder this year, lol. Let the par-teee begin. Will the REAL U of O stand up?!! (Uh, that would be Oregon...not Oklahomamama. :) )

GO DUCKS! :D

Predictions, anyone? Lloyd Carr may be in his last year at Meeeshegin if he loses to touchdown Jesus and the scarlet and gray. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Notre Dame 28, Michigan 10.

With such a great weekend, it's nice to have a DVR. Ain't it a sin to have Michigan/Notre Dame, LSU/Auburn, and Oklahoma/Oregon all on at the same time? What game will you watch at prime time? Tennessee/Florida or Nebraska/USC?

I'm a converted

DUCK fan now, go "DUCKS":D. I think ND will win. I hate Oklahoma cost me $50.00 bucks in loss to SC for title. My only prediction is I won't be able to watch the games someone is freaking getting married this weekend and invited me:( .

It's twice as good to have this very cool DUAL DVR!! :D I'll pray for a Michigan win (can't stand ND). And I'm going with Dukester's Auburn bunch. We know who I will be watching and rootin' fer at Oregon. I hate all the always-over-rated Florida teams, so that leaves the 'Huskers and Trojans for prime time.

How's that for logic, BEF1?! ;)

OMG OMG OMG, what happened to touchdown Jesus and Oklahoma? Wow, awesome job Meeeshagin and Oregon! You guys rule!

It's been an awesome day of college football. I live for fall saturdays. I've been pacing myself with the beers. In my younger days, I'd usually have a hang over by this time. :p

It was nice to see Miami take a nose dive early in the season. That was a spanking.

Any predictions with the Tennessee/Florida or USC/Nebraska game? My guess is Florida and USC are too tough, but hey, what do I know after today's upsets?

There are certain teams that are always overrated. A lot of this is the famed East Coast Bias...but IMHO it really is a Limited ECB, lol. ND and the main Florida teams are ever and forever rated about 10 spots too high by AP & UPI. I enjoy seeing anyone beat them, anytime. :) (I wonder how many of these raters have ever even seen an Oregon game? Not many, I'd wager.) Even the talking heads are making fruitcake mixes..rating Oklahoma #3 (Coach Holtz), or picking Fresno State over Oregon last week (Herbstreet), or saying nutty things like Florida "is just too fast for Tennessee", yada yada.

Yeah, I too dig college football season. After 23 years of marriage, giving up the demon rum, gettin' old and infirm, ya gotta have ..... something to look forward to on Saturdays. :D ;)

USC...of course.

One at a time

I'll tell you what - Penn State has a helluva defense. They shut Troy Smith down in the first half. That game was a lot closer than the score shows. PSU's linebacker, Posluszny, will be the next Lavar Arrington in the NFL. That dude is one mean SOB. The QB for PSU (Morelli) is going to have a long bus ride home. Those last two interceptions he threw really devastated the final outcome of that game.

OSU is still lookin' mighty good, tho'. Of course, if Joe Pa would come into the 21st century with his offense, they might have put up a closer game.

Any pics this weekend? Check out the games at hand:

Texas vs Oklahoma
LSU vs Florida
Michigan vs Michigan State
Tennessee vs Georgia
Oregon vs California

The Buckeyes will have to be in the little PIP this weekend. I don't see Bowling Green giving us too much of a problem ... if they do, we don't deserve to be no. 1

My picks are Horns, Gators, Rodents, Dogs, Ducks.

PS.... Little PIP window? Are you kidding? Watching the Bucks play should take precedence over all other games regardles of the opponent if you're a buckeye fan. I'll start by watching the early games, but OSU will be the primary 330EST programming that I"ll watch. I'll channel surf the Texas & LSU games because they share the same timeslot, but only during timeouts or commercials. When the buckeye game is over, I'll watch the remainder of the Michigan game, and that will be it for me....... (movies for the rest of the evening)
