Selecting speakers that disperse the sound in a way that works best with the room. Rooms that are all hard surfaces don't need speakers with wide dispersion- best to use speakers that are more directional and make sure the SPL isn't excessive. If high SPL is needed or desired, THEN work with some way to prevent strong reflections. Along with this, the seating area determines the dispersion needs.
