optimizing picture on tv or receiver

Both my tv and receiver have similar settings to optimize the TV picture. Where should I be doing the majority, or all, of my setup. My gut tells me to do everything on the TV and leave all of the picture settings on the receiver to default / off. Is this the right course of action, or should I adjust one then adust the other for even more fine tuning?

Thanks

Definately start with your tv. I calibrated there first, then because I have multiple video sources that route through the reciever and into the tv. Use the setup disc in your main player and make all adjustments at the tv. If you have another video source, tweak its settings to bring you tv back into adjustment when that source is selected. I don't make any adjustments in my reciever.
