Oppo vs. Denon 1610

Hi there,

This is my first post. I'm looking to by my first BD player, amongst other home theater equipment. Since I'm a newbie, there is a lot that I don't know/understand. My local HT shop has a Denon 1610 for $399. Is it worth it to spend the extra $100 and order an Oppo? I've never seen an Oppo. In fact, I don't exactly know what I should be looking for in a BD player. I currently own a Pioneer Elite 50" Plasma. I plan to by either a Denon 2310 or a Marantz receiver. I just wired my basement room for 7.1. Speakers are still a conundrum for me. So, as I said, I'm new but I just want to start out right. Thus, what are you're thoughts regarding those two BD players, or what about a cheaper one, such as from Costco? Thanks.

P.S. I tried reading the Denon new release thread but it wouldn't work past page three, so sorry if this topic has already been addressed, I tried to research it.

I just replace a Panasonic DMP-DB30 with the LG BD390 and it is awesome. Wireless firmware updates. Wirelessly tap into streaming entertainment like CinemaNow, YouTube, Netflix and Vudu direct to your TV from the Internet.

Good Luck!
