Oppo DV-971H Firmware Updates

Can I presume that the firmware updates and the modified remote would be included with the purchase (this week) of a new Oppo 971? I'm specifically referring to the review update here:

Yes, I have the dv971 that last update I know for certain others to speak of I'm not sure or heard of any!All that said,"ONE GREAT PICTURE" enjoy.

if you have a cd burner, you can easily update your own firmware, just follow the directions on the oppo website.

Anybody know how the 970 rates against 971?

Does it still run hot? Slow response time? Im looking for a decent upscaler that also supports DVD-A and SACD.

When you buy a new one, it should come with the latest firmware as well as the new remote. I've heard of people getting the old remote and when they asked, Oppo just sent them out the new remote for free too. As noted, you can update the firmware yourself if you have a CD burner, if for some reason there is a newer version available than what is on there.
