as you can see my two subs are :
PARADIGM DSP-3200
EMOTIVA ULTRA 12

what are the pros and cons of stacking them ?

like putting the emotiva 12 on top of the slightly larger paradigm ?

of course using the rubber feet on the emotiva

right now I have them on either side of the front wall one on each side of the tv and both on grammas

just pondering it :)

Stacking subwoofers has the same effect as a larger subwwoofer in that location. The only problem is when that's not the best location in the room for a subwoofer to begin with. It will intensify the poor acoustics in that location.

Here's a good article about dual subwoofer placement:

The best subwoofer installation will have four subwoofers in the room (I'm sure Gene would say more). It's recommended to have each one of the subwoofers in the middle of the room's four walls. The next best location is the four corners.

Here's Gene's article on "Subwoofer Crawl" to find the best location:

I have 2 subs in my 5.2 HT system. I found that by trying them in several different places that the bass sounded better (in my room) by placing them in opposite corners of the room One is front right and the other left rear. Every room will will sound different so move them around and see what works for your room and set up.
