Opinions on some new fronts!

Hey guys. I'm wanting to upgrade my Polk Audio Monitor 60 fronts to something better. I believe ive narrowed it down to these three: Martin Logan Motion 10, Mordaunt-Short Aviano 6, and Definitive Technology BP8B. I currently have a Yamaha RX-V373 that is rated at 100x5. The room they will be going in is about 15x10 with 8 foot ceilings. They will mostly be used for movies, but i still want a great sound for music as well. I'm not located near a dealer so i cant go listen to these for myself. Just curious as to some opinions of the choices i have selected. If you have different recommendations for speakers please feel free to comment. My budget is about $400-600 for a pair. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum!
Assuming you're using a subwoofer, the EMP Tek E55Ti's when on sale (next month), should be a really nice option.
They will likely be at the top of your budget but well worth it. Look up the review on the main AH site.
Cheers, Mac

Thank you for the reply Mac! I am unfamiliar with EMP but those are some gorgeous speakers. Do you own a pair or have you ever heard them?

Neither, just a well reviewed tower that several other members here own.
they have gone on sale for as low as 500.00 iirc last year. Free ship (one way) if you don't like em, send them back.
That ones on you though.
did you look up the review?
perhaps some owners will chime in with their thoughts.
cheers, Mac

Before I increased my tower budget (substantially) I was shopping in this price range. I have a sub, and based on all the good to glowing reviews I read, the EMP E55Ti's were always towards the top of my list to try. The finish is great for this price range, the SQ is fairly well reviewed, and what you are sacrificing in bass you can offset with a subwoofer. I'd wait until they go on sale, which is coming up shortly.

If you have a great sub, you might consider getting bookshelf speakers. Just a thought.

And don't forget to factor in the price of stands as well if you go with monitors...and the fact they might be more unstable than towers, in case you're throwing some raging parties.
