Setup consists of the following hardware:

Receiver / Accessories:

- Onkyo TX-sr607
- Onkyo UP-A1 ipod dock
- Onkyo sp406b DVD
- Apple Airport epress (to play music wireless from my laptop and control volume too)

Speakers:

- Bose AM10 speaker system
These will be mounted in the main living room
- 2 Boston Acoustic CS26B bookshelf speakers
These will serve as my kitchen/small den area speakers which will be mounted and hidden on top of my kitchen cabinets

I have a small tv room with a 42" Samsung which is where I plan on locating my amp and all the stuff that goes along with it... and in there I would like to add a set of speakers (something like BOSE 301's) to use them while watching movies... powered with Zone 2, this is where Id like to know if this is possible, and If I could connect a small powered sub in the second subwoor port and have it play with zone 2...

all opinions / commens / criticism welcomed.

Gonna have to agree. My brother has the 301s, the Paradigm Atoms I have as surrounds blow them away.

while i agree with the above comments on bose, if they work for you and you like the sound then go for them. only your ears can make the "best" choice for your room and set up.

My vote also goes to the Atoms. Not sure what your budget is, but my pair of Atoms (v.6) were $299 and I love them. I use them for a simple two channel system, and they sound great.

You should do some listening...and if you still prefer Bose then at least you know it was the right decision for you. Many people here dislike Bose, but obviously some people out there like Bose (Paul Harvey, R.I.P.), or they wouldn't still be in business.

By the way...good call on the Airport Express. I have one in my setup also and absolutely love being able to wirelessly stream my entire library into the living room. :)

The reason I chose the Bose AM10 was mostly aesthetics, it its the most appealing and discrete system to the eye out there, and regardless of what people dislike about bose this system has the ability to play loud music which is what it will be used for.... I just dont have where to place large speakers, if not I would have gotten Klipsch S3's...

can anyone tell me if I can install a set of speakers in Zone 2, and use that for playing movies in the DVD, while playing music in the living room with the airport express...
