Hi,
Recently I've got two pairs of speakers.
One is Mirage FRX-7 and the other one is Acoustic RESEARCH AR 3 Hi-res series with build-in Sunfire subwoffer amps.
Does anyone have a listening experience with any of them?
THanks

Since you've got them, why not listen to both? (Or did you actually mean "thinking of getting"?)

Hmmm. "Thinking of getting?" That's exacly what I mean.
Yeah, a guy has them both for sale, but they all hooked up to some crappy JVC receiver. And AR are heavy (at 80+ lbs each). SO I don't want just to drive them back and forth...

Are you getting them for a good price? What price range are you looking for?

Let's say you are getting the Mirage for $300 + sub and AR3 for $1000
Still a lot of speakers in that range?

I don't have a sub. Was thinking about getting one, but not yet.
Actually asking price is $300 for all 4. I'm thinking about using Mirages for the rear channel and AR (obviously) as mains.

So you're asking us if we should tell you to pull the trigger on buying almost $3 grand worth of speakers for only $300?

if they are NOT damaged and sound good to you, go for it good price.

You might not need a sub the ARs have built in subs.

Got them (both pairs). ARs sound awesome! Mirages are good as well. They don't have that low freq response of ARs, but still good.
As a bonus got Mirage FRX-C. But there is no use for it so it will be sold. Thanks all!

Thanks. Actually I was looking for a pair of main speakers for a long time. I have a pair of Mirage M5si. They are just incredible! But due to my room configuration there is no way I can place them properly to get the best they can deliver. ARs fit perfectly. And now I can sell my Mirages. Reluctant to let them go, but...
