Opinion on Emotiva Amps

Emo makes some pretty gear. I have had one of their amps, had trouble with it from day 1 and never did get the resolution I was looking for from the manufacturer.

Many forum members have them and love them, I will never buy another one of their products. I do still get a Christmas card from Emo each year and it's nice.

PM AcuDefTechGuy and ask him where you can get a deal on an amp like his.

I just upgraded from an Emotiva UPA-2 to the XPA-3. They both sound great!! I am new to the forum but I love home theater equipment and music. I am a big Klipsch Fan and also an Emotiva fan too. I actually have the UPA-2 for sale. I'm asking 250 plus shipping. I have the original double box and power cord, 12V trigger cord, and manual. It is in mint condition. I am also going to sweeten the deal by throwing in a pair of Monster 600 RCA cables to hook it up with. These are also mint. Great 2 channel amp. Rated at 185watts (4 ohm) and 125 watts (8 ohm).
Actually, I'd knock money OFF for including the Monster cables :)

I have an XPA-3 and I am very pleased with it. As mentioned in other threads, I did have a problem with it right out of the box but they addressed the issue right away.

They do dip into the low 3 ohm range though. My sounded a lot better once I added an amp.
Oh! Old thread!
In context, I was assuring him that the XPA-2 he bought would easily do the job for the Studio100s (93 dB efficiency). 3 ohms is problematic for some amps (especially receivers), but the XPA-2 is spec'ed at 500W at 4 ohms and the Studio100's are efficient.

But far be it for me to suggest someone not upgrade!:)
