So I'm getting a pretty good deal on a SuperCube 6000 (400 CAD), but I'd like your opinions on it, as well as ways to make sure it isn't a fake (I'm going to his house to audition it first before I buy it).

My room is 25x20x8, and is open on one 25ft side to some other stuff (so its a fairly decent sized room), and many people have said the SC is underpowered and whatnot, but honestly, if this isn't fake, could I do better for 400?

I've got a SC4000 that I got a good deal on. However, I wish I'd done more research first, I feel like I would have been better off holding onto my money until I had more to buy something better. With over 4,000 cubic feet I wouldn't expect much from a single 9" driver. I have about 3,000 cubic feet for my sc4000 to work in and I feel like it is ok with most of my music, but it complains a lot with movies and I end up having to turn it down.

Deftech makes decent speakers, but subs are not their fortè. I'd save up a little more and look at SVS, Hsu, RSL, or Rythmik (I know I forgot a couple).

Might be decent in a smaller room or if you have WAF pressure or if you have low expectations....personally I wouldn't bother.
