Opinion needed on FM Transmitter Options

So, my older home has the old standard multi room intercom system with am/fm radio and speakers in every room. I would love to update it but don't have the bucks to do it right now. What I want to do though, is to listen to my music on iphone/ipod over this speaker system. The system doesn't have any audio in ports, so I am thinking FM transmitter, but I don't know any of the products and was hoping you all might have some suggestions of either how to listen to iphone over antique wired house speakers, or the best FM transmitter to get for this type of application.

I know of no such unit.

What is the AM/FM amp unit? May be it can be modified to have some aux inputs. If a circuit can be found it should be possible.

The other solution is to replace that unit with a vintage receiver. We would need to know the details of the speaker system.

You need a different unit or DIY.

There are definitely FM transmitters for music players. I just didn't post earlier because I don't have experience with them. You can go to Amazon and do a search for "fm transmitter" and you'll find several. Some are well reviewed, too. They seem to be in the <$50 range.
