The review did in fact praise them for what they are worth and more! My problem is when some forum members push a product like the rest of us are missing something.

Excellent point. I have Axiom M3Tis and I find them great, I like them better than comparable Paradigms but I got tired of seeing Axioms constantly pushed on people on various forums. I'm looking to upgrade and I'm not particularly interested in Paradigm or B&W having listened to both in the $1000 range I like Paradigm better but I found Focal to suit my ears best.

There is such a thing as a "bad" speaker but there's still probably somebody somewhere that likes it.

I will say this, the av123 x-ls and the ascends are very interesting products. Living up here though, when you take cost into account the value is not as good. It pushes them into a larger playing field and places them in a better competition field (psb,energy,mirage and axiom). I was saying that stinks about Emotivia. WmAx said MTM reduces lobbing effect.

When I referred to lobing in the linked post in question, I was referring to the commonly referred to area of the crossover bandwidth. But one might also define the interaction of the two mid-bass drivers operating in the same bandwidth off axis vertically as lobing. I believe I did eventually clarify that in the liniked thread -- but that was nearer the middle or the end of the thread.

The lobing effect around the crossover range can be minimized using a MTM configuration along with the appropriate crossover topology. A vertical(if speaker is placed upright) 'lobing' effect, however, in the mid-bass bandwidth will be created, that would not normally be present a speaker with a single mid-bass driver. Refer to the thread linked for more information.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to get down there and work...so much to do...truth is I am enjoying the X system enough to not be real eager about finishing...only thing I dont like is the volume cap since it is on the main living level and I dont want to keep my daughter up all night.
