Online Dealer Recommendation

My apologies if I am posting this in the wrong forum. But as a newbie, I am interested in identifying reputable online dealers for the following products: Paradigm, Bryston, Audio Research & Cambridge Audio. Although I certainly understand the advantages of buying local, I at least need to be sure that my local dealer's prices are not out of line. Thank you.

I don't believe Bryston or paradigm have any authorized on-line dealers. I seem to recall cambridge products at www.Audioadvisor.com. They also carry other excellent brands although not in the Bryston class.

10% off is kind of the norm. If you get 15% off your doing very good. 20% off, and someone higher up must be looking after you.

You can email the manufacturers and they can send you an msrp list for all the products they well. So when you go to the dealer you can see if they are charging more of giving you a very good deal.

Check the manufactures website for authorizzzzzed dealers. What tends to happen is people go to a brick and mortar store test the equipment(taking time away from the salesperson), and then go online looking for huge discounts, All though i like to save money whenever possible. Try to "demo" a friends unit when avialable or the get advice of a fourm. If you ask, most store fronts will match prices of authorized online retailers. I always feel morecomfortable making large dollar purchases from someone locally that i can deal with in all aspects of the sale, ie if there is a problem-they not you handle them. Most maufactures of higher end goods have a rough time with this, as the customers are not properly educated on their goods and it causes issues with name branding. You will note that the online store hear deals with goods that are discussed on the fourm, and run by end users.Good luck shopping

Very few high end manufacturers want to post on the web. I have used Amazon in the past. The high end is kind of hit and miss there, you can find Cambridge, Paradigm, there however. A lot of different etailers post their prices there, so you get a quick idea of what a lot of other people are charging.
Usually better for more mainstream. Right now Onkyo TSX-SR 875 is 1168.00 at Amazon with free shipping, no tax. Crutchfield has a amazing on sale price of $1449.00, also with free shipping. That is a big difference.
I am in the market for a new receiver in the $800-$1500 range, which I know is a broad range, but there is a lot of good stuff there. I am considering buying the Marantz 7002 from Audioholics. Price seems good, and I like the additional warranty that they throw in.
