Last month around the 7th or so I purchased a new Onkyo TX-SR805 online. I had it shipped to my parents in Arizona from Illinois. They got it in and sent it to me in Honduras. I'm in the military so they have to forward my mail to me since a lot of companies frown on sending large, heavy, expensive pieces of equipment to third world countries. Anyway, I got it in last night after weeks and weeks of waiting and to my dismay it's toast.
So expensive. So pretty. So damn angry.
When plugged in, I pressed the power button, it made a click noise and the LCD Display came on and then quickly turned off. I checked the book and it said the receiver had gone into Amp Protection Mode and that I should unplug it from the wall and let it sit for an hour and try again. Tried again and this time the LCD won't even come on. So, I have a 65lb. paper weight in my room here on base that cost me about $800.00. I checked through the box again for warranty paperwork, nothing. The box, by the way, is beaten badly and the styrofoam inside is all broken. I didn't even get the Set-Up Mic...
Is there something I could change inside or something I could do quickly to diagnose what is wrong with it?
