Onkyo TX-SR805 Question?

just got the onkyo TX-SR805 of course has 7.1...

My question is, i'm using 4 beta 50 speakers and beta 360 center (5.1 speakers) - says to connect the back to the surround side channel (no problems with that).

So what about the sound that would normally be sent to the back speakers for 7.1 - will I not hear that sound or does it mix them channels into the surround side speakers then???

any and all feed back on this would be great!

You won't be missing any sound. The sound that would normally come from the rear surrounds is actually put there "artificially" by the recever. As long as you are not using Dolbly PLIIx or DTS Neo6 you will be fine. most multi-channel recordings are only 5.1 only.

what happens for the few that do support 6.1 to 7.1 - some of the new HD-DVD's as example - will these channels be down mixed into the surrounds then?
