HI- I went out and bought a tx-sr606 the minute they came out, I set it up and had some problems with the unit shutting down and going into protect mode I guess. It was happening at different times and mainly when the volume was a little higher, or a sub area was going to hit, but not very loud, by no means was I cranking it. It shut down about 10 times in 3 days from listening to music, to just watching blu rays on ps3. Everything is hooked up thru hdmi also. I took the unit back and traded in for another, everything has been fine till last night when I was playing a ps3 game, on low volume, I guess a grenade was exploding but I had this on low volume and boom the unit shut down taking my ps3 and tv with it since all is hooked up thru reciever. Can you all please let meknow what to check please, is this something I am doing? I cant reall crank it to test to see if it will keep shutting down because of living in a condo so I am kinda stuck. This is what I am running as far as components if that my make a difference:
I am running B&W N805s up front a b&w htm2 center, a jlb powered sub, and 2 b&w surrounds, then a ps3 and thats it. I use blue jeans speaker cables terminated with bannana plugs.
Would my speakers be causing this? I have checked for touching wires and see nothing?
Aslo I am just noticing I cant hook up a external amp to this receiver I guess doesnt have pre outs for that???? anyone know about using zone 2 outs for hooking up a line to the amp?
Do I need more power or something for these speakers?
I was running an old yamaha 5 years old with about same power with no problems ever. Thanks for any help!!!
