Onkyo TX-SR605 vs Onkyo HT-SR800

I had a Onkyo Onkyo HT-S790 that was only 6 months old and the receiver was fried by a power surge. I was going to replace it with a Onkyo HT-SR800 but got to thinking that my speakers are the same as the HT-SR800 so why replace them. My insurance company will give me approx. $450 to replace my s790. Would I be better off buying the SR-800 or using my existing speakers with a better reciever (Onkyo TX-SR605)? I have a Sony 60" HDTV 1080p and plan to buy an OPPO HD DVD. I have no problem with using multiple cables because all cables are hidden and my TV has plenty of open connections. I also have a Logitech remote so it is not a chore changing TV inputs. I currently am using Component cables to the TV and optical from my cable box to the receiver.

The TX-SR605 had HDMI 1.3 and all the fixins that come with it (repeating HDMI with processing and upscaling).

I would go ahead and get the 605, and should you decide to upgrade speakers later you will have a nice receiver to power them.:)
