Ok,

I just got my new ONKYO TX-SR508 7.1 Receiver in yesterday and last night I was checking out the rear panel and noitced the Front High / Zone 2 speaker connections...

So, my question is... can the amp power all nine speakers if I use Front High and the Rear Surround at the same time?

That answer to your question would a big "NOPE". Have to move up to the X008 models for that.

Ok,

I understand I wouldn't have 9.1....

But what would happen if I plug them all in? Will I have the same mix on the front high as the rear surround? Will I have no sound at all? Or will I blow the amp?

I am just trying to figure out how this amp works before I hook everything up tonight.

You select what speakers you want powered via how you set them up inside the setup menu. Your not going to blow the amp up unless your speakers are 4-ohm.

You can have either the surround or heights depending on what you chose to play. Personally I'll run the heights vs the rears, that's how I have mine setup, plus I don't have the room or rears right now. Once I move into a bigger place than I will have the rears powered as well.

Ok sounds great! I am looking forward to hooking everything up tonight with my new HD20 Projector and PS3!
