Help a Newbie,,,,
I have an Onkyo TX-SR506 that I believe went through a power surge on a recent electrical storm.
It powers up, display comes on, clicks a few times and then shuts off. The standby light then begins to flash.
Something new that I haven't read on any other threads is that if I push the "Zone 2" button, the receiver remains on and seems normal. It is only then when I go to any Zone 1 buttons that the receiver shuts back down.
Can anyone possibly narrow down what might need to be repaired on the board?
Thanks.

Did you have a surge protector protecting your system? Were any other components damaged? Was your TV cable connected to the Onkyo?

I was hoping someone with the expertise would chime in, your issue is far beyond my knowledge.

But I think you may be out of luck. Your Onkyo may be damaged in a few different areas on the board. Being that it probably came in the power cord, there is a small chance there is a service only fuse that saved it. Have you taken it apart to inspect?

Yep, took it apart and of the three fuses I could find, they all look good. Just curious why the Zone 2 still works.
