Onkyo Tx-nr807 Help

I just got the onkyo tx-nr 807 and try to connect it to my Dell vostro 420 computer via hdmi but i only get the picture to my lcd with NO sound from my speaker system. But when i connect dirrectly my computer to my lcd also using hdmi i get them both picture & sound from my lcd.
Anyone who know the problem and to solve it I am very appricated!!!

Might be some kind of handshake issue.... I would consider using either the analog audio outputs from your computer or SPDIF if it has it.

Need to assign the Digital Audio Input

Since your 807 is new and it is HDMI 1.3, it should handle audio on HDMI just fine.

This leads me to believe you need to assign the audio path as outlined in the First Time Set-Up, Digital Audio Input Setup procedure on p. 50 of the manual.

You will note none of the Defaults are set to HDMI.
