Onkyo tx nr 3007 vs Pioneer sc lx 72 (elite sc25)

Hi

I wonder if anyone of you have any experience from those two receivers.
I have listened to those in stores so i dont have any "real" life experience from them and im still pusseld wich one to buy.

Music listening, movies and gaming are all on the menu so its important to finde one that makes best combo. Or so to speak wich one that manages to compromise in the best way.

I have the Ztz 99.26 speakers, wich is not very "flirty", but tend to lean towards reference and they are from my experience, somewhat unforgiving to the sound source.


HiFi (stereo)
This round goes to Pioneer with my taste but the Onkyo still sound very good, but way more "rock n roll".

Movies
Same here, Pioneer seems more detailed and more subtle while teh "onk" are more straight forward and in your face.

EQ:s
i have not been able to see those in action, but both seem impressive on paper. Audessy and the Macac.(spelling warning)

Picture:
Same here, no experience from it, but the "onk" seems to have more features here and better processing from what i can understand.

So all in all, im a bit confused wich one to buy, the Onk have way more features, 9.2, picture options and stuff. On teh other hand the Pioneer feels way better built and it has way more heavy quality feel and look.

Any input on those two would be very nice.

P:s dont forget the other great ones, Yamaha 3900, Denon and Sony.

Im a restarter in the homecinma thing and alot has happend since my last setup (Canton Rc-L + H/K avr 7000, a classic combo)

I'm actually in the same boat. i finally convinced the fiance to let me buy a full on home theater to go with our 55" TV, and have been perusing forums and reviews for weeks.

Right now I'm primarily interested in the SC-25, largely based on its feature set and amplifier section. The discounts BB has been running is certainly factoring in too. However, my primary alternatives have been the Marantz SR6004 or possibly the UMC-1 plus a XPA-3/5 depending.

The Onyx 3007 has grabbed my attention though so any feedback on the two units would also be appreciated by myself.

What kind of speaker setup do u have?

And yes i have also listened to the marantz you mention, its great to. But no doubt the Onkyo have the most features. But im leaning towards the Pioneer and i think its called actually sc27 the one im looking at, and yes, there have been some really good dicounts wich put in in a good pricerange here in sweden. its around 1500 euros. the sc 27 elite.

I dont have any speakers at the time being, besides for a 15 year old bose acoustimass system I got for free. Right now I'm about 85% sure I'll go with an Aperion 6T set up. All the reviews I've read about them seem really positive, and you cant beat the price.
