Onkyo TX-DS747 & YAMAHA RX-V992

Looking to start my home theatre/music (50/50) system on a budget. The more I read and learn, the more I realize I need to up my budget So in looking at the used route, I've found two fairly local receivers on sale on ebay.
1. Onkyo TX-DS747 - for about US$300
2. YAMAHA RX-V992 - US$200

Anyone have any experience with either of these receivers? They both seem to have what I'm looking for to start (5.1, phono inputs). I welcome any thoughts from those more experienced. (The next step will be speakers...on a budget

For just a little bit more, you can get an Onkyo TX-SR602B or Pioneer VSX-1014TX-K. Check out epinions.com for the best pricing. I'm hearing good things about both recievers. Search this newsgroup for info.
