I currently have an Onkyo SR-616 and I'm able to get a SR-3008 for about 1/3 the price of a SR-1030 (roughly the price of a SR444). There is also a possibility that I can trade the SR-616 and pay in the difference.
Main reason would be volume output. I have a set of Wharfedale Obsidian 600s and volume is usually at 40-45 for tv series in stereo and 50-60 for multi-channel movies (when the wife is not home).
Things to keep in mind, I don't have a 4K tv and Atmos is out of the question because I'm renting.
Would this be worth it? What else should I consider when weighing these options?
