Onkyo RZ 70 Listening modes question

I was always under the impression that despite the signal coming in you can still select any listening modes you want (ie: DTS, Imax, DD.......)

I ask this because during some Atmos content I was trying to switch modes using the movie button just for kicks. Only like 3 modes were available.

Cross up mixing of Dolby Atmos signals using a DTS/IMAX DTS up mixer is prohibited. Some TVs will output a Dolby signal with eARC support enabled that may be confused with Dolby Atmos by the AVP/AVR and lock out the DTS/IMAX DTS up mixers.

Depending on the device used for playback, decoding of the signal at the source and outputting multichannel PCM sans Atmos metadata will allow for any up mixer to be applied to the signal.

If you experience limitations with available listening modes, make sure your playback device is set up correctly to avoid confusion between different audio formats.

TVs usually don't provide the best audio support / options, which is likely why many of us don't use the TV as a streamer. Streamed content will also almost always have average audio no matter the format due to compression.

Getting back on topic, Atmos signals cannot be crossed up mixed and DTS Neural:X cannot be selected as the Sound/Listening Mode. IMAX DTS Sound/Listening modes work only with IMAX DTS signals.
