Wondering if this is the correct place to ask a question about this receiver, around mid December I fired it up along with my Optima HD20 projector and the picture was cut in half to 60", spoken with onkyo several times and they can't seem to figure out what is wrong, 720p picture is clear but when I change to 1080p it's pixilated and far from 1080p, anyone else have this issue with the new software update onkyo rolled out?

Do you have another reciever to try out? If not send the Onkyo 609 and get another one. Does it happen on your regular TV as well?

I only have one receiver and it's not possible to connect to another TV.

I would try to connect it to any TV to see if you get the same thing happening. It could be the PJ that is the problem. You never know. Try plugging your bluray player straight to the PJ and see if the size changes. Could also be a faulty HDMI cable as well.

I appreciate the advice and I will move it to another room and try, but please forgive my lack of jargon here, but what is PJ?

Kind of give a bit more history to the issue and maybe see if you think it is still that problem, I appreciate all the advice! Thank you.
I use this receiver often, one day it was fine, the next day it wasn't, when looking back I looked at onkyo software updates and they released one at the time the problem started, I manually stretched the screen back to 120" but haven't been able to get the 1080p quality that it was the day before, I've tried adjusting every which way on the onkyo but can't get the correct recipe between in the resolution/pic mode/wide mode settings, would this be a PJ or hdmi cable issue you think still? I just seen you commented, will end this thread and read.

Stop the presses! Pulled up the onkyo application on my ipad and was looking thru the audio/visual screen, noticed the hdmi out was 720p then noticed the in was also 720p, changed the box and I was at least able to get the pic to 1080i, so it's a start, it wasn't even the receiver update that did it, Cox must have had an update at the same time, unreal! I am greatly appreciative of all your help, probably wouldn't have found it otherwise, just sitting here going thru options. Thank you!
