Onkyo receivers were already ridiculously over-featured - if that's possible. The company has now upped their game once again, however, adding a new USB Bluetooth adapter. Why? Well, with the growing popularity of music streaming and ever-increasingly tech-savvy consumers, Onkyo wanted to expand what it could do. But it didn't just add Bluetooth connectivity to its receivers, it added the additional functionality of streaming capabilities to its iPod Touch/iPhone and Android/Kindle remote apps. Now, the USB Bluetooth dongle serves as a hardware gateway for a whole new way to get music to your A/V receiver and control it remotely from your phone or tablet.

I have the Onkyo TX-SR706 receiver model. Will I be able to stream music from my Iphone 5 in any way? I would like to go wireless and still use this older Onkyo receiver. What are my options? I'm new to all of this "stuff". TIA

Note: The UBT-1 is only compatible with Onkyo 2012 Network Receivers (TX-NR414, HT-RC440 and Later)

Still trying to use this older Onkyo TX-SR706 receiver. Would I now be able to stream music from my iphone if I purchase the new Definitive Technology DTS Play-Fi using the W Adapt and the W Studio Sound Bar with included subwoofer? I currently have a Panasonic 50" Plasma TC-PG10 flat screen and I think this may be a route to go for a nice home theater set up and also being able to listen to music with my iphone.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
