Onkyo H-S787C? Advie pls.

Hi,

I'm pretty new to this, and I've read so much in the last few days and learnt a lot in that time. I'm considering getting an Onkyo H-S787C system for a smallish room in my house. Does anyone have any other recommendations or advice to offer me?

Vanns has it w/free shipping for 600 bucks...

That makes it a full 7.1 setup with DVD changer for that price. I'm not sure there is anything better at 600 bucks. There is better for a few hundred more.

The speakers are the known deficiency in the Onkyo system, but they are better than those found in any other HTIB system at that price point that I am aware of.

But, I have no knowledge of it being one bit better than the Onkyo.

Heck - the Onkyo HT-S770 (6.1 no DVD player) can be had for under $300.00 shipped to your door. THAT is a bargain for a system at that price.

I would love to see a Sub $800 HTIB shootout. Think I'll go make a suggestion for that.
