I'm not sure there is anything better at 600 bucks. There is better for a few hundred more. The speakers are the known deficiency in the Onkyo system, but they are better than those found in any other HTIB system at that price point that I am aware of. If I were to make any possible alternative recommendations: http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/393.asp But, I have no knowledge of it being one bit better than the Onkyo. Heck - the Onkyo HT-S770 (6.1 no DVD player) can be had for under $300.00 shipped to your door. THAT is a bargain for a system at that price. I would love to see a Sub $800 HTIB shootout.
