Onkyo ES-600Pro Remote...

Hey guys...

New to the forum, seems like a pretty cool place to get good A/V equipment advice so here goes my inquiry.

BTW yes Ive searched... and searched and....searched, thats honestly how I got to this forum. Ive googled the he(doublehockeystix) out of this problem.

This is all centering the fact that Im getting a Samsung 50" Plasma 1080 next week...

Ive had an Onkyo ES-600Pro, Surround Sound Processor for YEARS. Ive not used it at all for various reasons but due to the new flat screen coming next week. Im going to start to use it. My issue is this:

I cant seem to get the remote to talk to it. I know its working because Im getting lights lit up when I press buttons. This is why I stopped using it, Long ago I tried programming it and somehow I programmed it so that it wouldnt talk to the unit anymore... sigh.

Im curious if anyone knows how to to a factory reset or to reprogram it to factory status. Ive searched all morning online for answers. Ive lost the manual in moving and a divorce.

Long story short Ive got an Onkyo ES-600 Pro surround sound processor, it has a remote RC-199M and I need to know how to get that remote to factory status.

I'm not familiar with that particular remote model but Onkyo does tend to be consistent from year to year (my 2002 RC5676M remote will still control the basic functions of a 12 year old TX-SV525 receiver - they add new codes but leave old ones the same).

The procedure to set that remote back to factory defaults:
1. Press and hold the [Amp] button and then press the [Standby] button.
2. Release both buttons and wait 5 seconds.
3. Press the [Amp] button again.

[Amp] refers to the receiver since this is the remote that came with the receiver and [Standby] is power on/off. Your buttons may be named differently since it is a surround processor but I'd bet the procedure is similar if not the same.
