Yeah, that would be confusing, especially because you didn't say what it was exactly about the video that was disappointing!
All I know is that having ISF controls, Reon HQV, Audyssey MultEQ XT, Dynamic Volume + EQ, beefy amp, all for under $1k is ridiculous.
I posted this a week ago or so regarding the ISF controls in the 876:
You can control both settings of contrast and brightness for each of RGB, in addition to gamma controls, and have separate settings for night vs day viewing, and in fact do all of that in multiple ways for even the same source. You can also apply three different types of NR, being mosquito, random, and block, as well as edge enhancement.
I'm sure its not perfect, but its hard to expect perfection from such a value oriented piece. For instance, the video processor I would love to have, the Radiance XD, is probably several thousand dollars!

and that's all it does really, no amp, no high end room correction, etc...
If you want the best VP, there are those who say outboard stand-alone is the only WTG. You might look into the DVDO Edge for something affordable. I've seen go for as low as $600 recently, but I think its back up to msrp...
