Purchased an onk 807 3 weeks ago.
Had an initial internet problem where the unit would not connect.Unplugged and and re-plugging fixed the problem.
Well, its doing it again only this time unplugging is not helping:(
Problem #2,was able to put unit in passthrough, put unit in standby mode and watch cable T.V. without the receiver being on.Well,it won't do that anymore. If I want to watch cable T.V.without the receiver being on I have to disconnect HDMI out and plug it directly into the TWC dvr.T.V. says check signal cable. All hdmi cables are good.
Problem#3,certain items in set-up menu are greyed out.
Remote controller setup,#8 on the menu list
In speaker setup,#4 level calibration.
In hardware setup#5 network(obvious,no connection being made)#6 firmware update(again, obvious, noconnect)My ps3 and pc are both hooked to the wired router and work fine.
I've read on other posts(after I purchased:()that it might not be a good feature to have passthrough accessible in standby.I.E.,premature failure.
I only have 6 days left to be able to return the unit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,Len
P.S.,unit does not run really hot, just warm to the touch.

One of the first things I heard at Denon technical training is to do a hard reset as soon as a receiver comes out of the box. The second thing that should be done when the receiver has ethernet connectivity is to do a firmware update because it may have been sitting in a warehouse since before the newest version came out.

I don't think the ability to pass through a signal to the TV was included in US receivers that year. The first time I heard of it was the 608. Anyway I could be wrong but I can't find it in the manual. Do you have the European or Asian version?

I have the U.S. version.
Went over to AVS 807 owners thread, problem solved.
Instead of powering down with remote, powered down with button on the RECEIVER.
Pulled plug,pulled ethernet cable.
Replugged, powered on with RECEIVER button, not remote.
Reconnected ethernet,back in business.
Also did a firmware upgrade afterwards.
For whatever reason, its always better to use the RECEIVERS power standyby button.
Thanks for your replies.

P.S. nothing is greyed out on setup page;)
